Welcome to the Midwest Service-Learning Site
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
(Let's Get Started!)
Midwestservicelearning.org is a way to connect organizations that offer service-learning and volunteer opportunities with potential volunteers. Organizations post listings for their opportunities. Those listings are then available for anyone to search for and respond to.
If you are an ORGANIZATION interested in using MidwestServiceLearning.org to list your service-learning and volunteer positions, please request an account. It only takes a minute and once your request has been approved, you will be able to list opportunities as you wish.
If you are a STUDENT or FACULTY MEMBER looking for a service-learning or volunteer opportunity, feel free to browse our listings using the links above. You can also search for an opportunity that meets your exact needs or browse through the list of organizations registered on our site.
Also be sure to check out the frequently asked questions and links pages.

Welcome to this interactive website sponsored by the Midwest Consortium for Service-Learning in Higher Education and the AIM Institute.
"Community Connections" is a tool designed to bring lessons from the classroom to service programs in the community. (Students are more likely to grasp concepts and gain a deeper understanding of coursework when given an opportunity. Additionally, agency partners and community residents reap a direct benefit.)
The strength of an educational institution has always been the ability to mobilize the talent and creative energy of its students, faculty and staff. In successful communities, the connection between those communities and their universities is more seamless than in other places. It is hard to tell where one begins and the other ends.
Today, such success is often measured by the strength of the collaborations. Colleges and universities across the nation are called to expand their lessons far beyond the borders of the classroom. Meanwhile, community agencies are challenged to serve an ever growing population. Whether you are a part of the an institution for higher education or a community service agency, we hope you will use this tool to create partnerships to answer the call, address the issues, and accept the challenges of our modern world.
Best wishes in your service-learning experiences.
Sincerely,
Gary L. Heusel
